Sky view from the farm

We have some incedible views from the farm. I am considering setting up an album of the ones I have photographed. Keep checking back for more.

Tilapia Tank

We cleaned out the tilapia tank this week. They seem to be multiplying. Can you say "Fish fry?" We will be eating tilapia real soon.

For those interested, this is a new slideshow I am creating for our stall at the Keauhou Farmers Market we have. Just one more thing to attract attention to the stall. Sell, Sell, Sell!

Mystery Goat

We woke up this morning to the sound of a small goat bleating. We have a couple of goats, so we thought a goat had gotten out. Nope. It was a baby goat. How the hell did this goat get inside the fence line? We now think we might be the orphan goat drop off for the area.

Water is king.

We can't grow food without water. We have no county water hookup here in South Kona. Instead we are on catchment, if it rains we can store up to 20,000 gllons. Only in the winter the west side of the Big Island tends to be dry, so getting enough water is a challenge. This week my neighbor Ron, who has about 40,000 gallons stored up, offered me a trade for produce from our farm. Enough said, so today I ran a half inch line over 800 feet to deliver water from Ron's tank to our tank. Yeah Ron!
