We woke up this morning to the sound of a small goat bleating. We have a couple of goats, so we thought a goat had gotten out. Nope. It was a baby goat. How the hell did this goat get inside the fence line? We now think we might be the orphan goat drop off for the area.
We can't grow food without water. We have no county water hookup here in South Kona. Instead we are on catchment, if it rains we can store up to 20,000 gllons. Only in the winter the west side of the Big Island tends to be dry, so getting enough water is a challenge. This week my neighbor Ron, who has about 40,000 gallons stored up, offered me a trade for produce from our farm. Enough said, so today I ran a half inch line over 800 feet to deliver water from Ron's tank to our tank. Yeah Ron!
